Character appearances

Someone Mentioned that they make Candy dolls of all their characters to help remember what their appearances look like.  I thought it would be fun to try that.  Also, since there is some confusion about heights, I put everyone in a police lineup.  Have fun guessing the characters  :D

Just got a request for a partial!

Sent out some queries today.  Had an agent request the first 3 chapters. Yay!!!!  They responded within an hour of my query too.  Put me in a good mood for the rest of the day.

Ya'll are going to hate me.

Just rewrote the ending to book number two.  Changed it completely...  Had to make Bram more of the protagonist.  But now it is angsty. As if the book wasn't bad enough.   Hahaha, I am such a vicious brute.  Will reread it soon to make sure I still like that ending better.

A conundrum

Been struggling with writing characters that are decent and kind without being boring.  It isn't easy.  Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables says it best: "Well, I wouldn't marry anyone who was really wicked, but I think I'd like it if he could be wicked and wouldn't."
I know I am teetering on the edge with Bram.  He is a nice guy, he really doesn't have it in him to be mean.  That is Paul's job  ;)   So, I am thinking about going back and adding more in the insanity area, letting James affect him a little more.  Poor Bram needs more flaws.  He is borderline too perfect.
This reminds me of a shirt I saw recently, loved it, want to own it!  It read  Some people were born to suffer. We call them protagonists.

Site of the Day!

AutoCrit is an amazing site.  I had fun pasting in parts of my manuscript and finding out what my writing flaws were.  I was a little frustrated with my scores until I entered in the first few pages of Harry Potter.  Yay! JK Rowling's writing wasn't perfect either.  In fact, she had similar problems, so I am not going to worry so much about the amount of "Was" and "It's" that I had   :D

chaos reigns but I am still writing

Someone unknown force there has a serious grudge against me.  He is trying his hardest to pull me down.  But I refuse to let it get to me.
Over Christmas break our house was flooded.  I have spent the last month living in a hotel.  Though the kids are running amok and I am going slightly batty, I have been able to do a lot of writing.  I finished editing book two, Furnace of Afflictions and have started writing a third book.  This one is called Through the Valley of Darkness.  I am having a lot of fun writing this one.  It is the story of Paul growing up in the Northern part of Idaho. He is the 5th son of a family who has been possessed by the pentagram for generations.  They are very proud!
Poor Paul, we finally get to find out why he is so tight-lipped about his family.  And a pre-reverend Bastian shows up.  I am also contemplating throwing in a glimpse at a 8-year-old little Lucy  :D
