First Agent Queries

I sent off my first queries to a couple of agents.   I will now try to be very patient.  That is extremely hard for me.  Twiddles thumbs.

Editing is almost done

It is 5 in the morning and I am sick.  Spent the entire day yesterday editing, will probably do the same thing today.  I think I am about ready to send my first query to an agent.  I want my first rejection as a Christmas present.

Thanksgiving

Is it tragically stupid that I feel the need to make my pies completely from scratch because the fictional character that I created made homemade Thanksgiving pies?  This is my first time hosting Thanksgiving dinner at my home.  I want everything to be perfect.  The sad thing is, I most likely would have used pre-made pie crusts if it wasn't for the book.
Happy Thanksgiving everyone

First non-family feedback

Got an email with my first feedback on Call Us Legion from a friend who is not family.  Hurrah!

"Hi Laurie, I just finished reading the whole thing.  Wow! I couldn't put it down.  It is now after 3am I never found it lacking in anything.  Never knew you had such an intriguing story in you. That's the kind of stories I like.  keeps you on the edge of your seat.  Hope you can get it published.  I think others would like it too. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to read it."

sequel plot

Poor David read through chapter 5 last night on the sequel.  It is still pretty rough, but I like the plot.  I knew he would have a hard time with chapter 4.  Something terrible happens in the chapter.  I knew he was at that spot because his eye nearly popped out of his head while he was reading.  All he said afterward was "that was an evil chapter".  Luckily things got better in the next chapter, or I think he would have had nightmares  :D

Tired of editing

My brain is exhausted.  I have been editing like crazy.  Took a breather and worked on the Sequel to Call Us Legion instead.  Hehehe, someone has the ability to use electricity.  They are practicing  their new powers by frying cockroaches.  I wonder what electrocuted cockroaches smell like.  I think of burnt popcorn, but it probably smells completely different.  I refuse to go looking for a cockroach to find out.  Thank goodness, I have never seen one in my house.

Summary 2 for new novel CALL US LEGION

Bram Mathers is an average 17-year-old boy living in the rural town of McMinnville, Oregon. Bram’s trouble-free life disintegrates when he is possessed by Simeon, a fearless and determined young man who died during World War II.  Bram’s troubles are further intensified when he again is possessed, this time by James, a shrewd and malicious being. Bram is abruptly thrown into a dangerous world where people are willing to betray and kill in order to gain power.

After Bram becomes possessed, he travels to downtown Portland.  There he visits the Alliance, a safe haven for those who are hosts to uncorrupted souls.  At the Alliance, Bram trains to become a Manumitter, a person who exorcises harmful spirits from those that are wrongly possessed.  Bram must work hard to learn how to control his new psychic powers while dealing with the mental damage caused by being a multi-possessor.

Bram’s adventures drag him through the streets of Old Town Portland and the infamous underground Shanghai tunnels.   Here Bram desperately fights to keep his sanity while attempting to save the lives of the people that he cares about.  The question is can he protect them from both that which is dangerous on the outside, and that which is evil within himself?
